Aeronautical Engineers, Inc (AEI) has delivered its 400th conversion. The 11-pallet position Boeing 737-400SF (msn 25105) was converted at Commercial Jet’s facility in Miami, FL, and, after a test flight, painted at the company’s Dothan, AL facility. The aircraft is owned by Vx Capital Partners and will be operated by Belgium-based TNT Airways.

Aeronautical Engineers, Inc (AEI), has delivered a third 11-pallet position Boeing 737-400SF to Switzerland-based FARNAIR Group, which will become the second aircraft for Thailand-based K-Mile Air. Built in 1998, the aircraft (msn 29000) was converted at Commercial Jet’s Dothan, AL, facility. This is the third conversion of a four aircraft agreement.

AMAC Aerospace has recently signed completion contracts for a Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) and an Airbus A320-200 for undisclosed Middle East customers. The BBJ will undergo a cabin reconfiguration that will convert the major compartment of the cabin into a VIP Lounge with a separate club seating area. New side ledges will be manufactured and installed on each side, as well as electrical high-low tables. New coffee tables will also be installed in the rear section of the aircraft, while new breathable divans will provide additional sleeping positions to the aircraft cabin. AMAC Aerospace will provide the interior design package. The A320-200 is currently operated in an airliner configuration and will be converted into a VVIP aircraft with a master bedroom, master lavatory and shower. AVOD IFE and wireless streaming will be available to passengers with handheld portable devices. AMAC Aerospace will support the designer during the definition process of the cabin.

Associated Air Center (AAC) recently signed a contract for a new, green Airbus ACJ320 VVIP completion project. This project represents the company’s 18th A320 completion programme since becoming an Airbus Completion Center in 2003. The cabin layout for the aircraft will feature a nose-to-tail customised interior equipped with a forward galley complex, a master bedroom and lavatory and a large main lounge separated into three areas, plus a mid-cabin VIP lavatory, an aft staff area, passenger lavatory, and an aft custom galley. The aircraft will also be equipped with an IFE system featuring large bulkhead mounted LED screens, AVOD (audio visual on demand) and surround sound. Connectivity will feature Satcom Broadband and GSM. The project will begin immediately with interior design and development of the technical specifications. The aircraft is expected to arrive at AAC’s Dallas facility in August 2015.

Boeing Shanghai Aviation Services has signed a Boeing 737-400 Freighter Conversion Agreement with Russia-based Volga-Dnepr Group. The aircraft arrived at Boeing Shanghai at the end of November for the passenger-to-freighter conversion, a C check and full painting. The modification will be performed under an STC held by Aeronautical Engineers, Inc (AEI). The aircraft is scheduled for redelivery in the first quarter of 2015.

Fokker Services has been selected by Boeing to carry out a 737-800 Head of State completion for an undisclosed Asian customer. The aircraft is scheduled to arrive at Fokker Services Netherlands facility in October 2015 with a scheduled redelivery in August 2016.

Gulf Air recently completed its first insourced Airbus A330 18-month check at its base maintenance facility in Bahrain, forming part of the airline’s efforts to streamline its operations for greater efficiency and cost reduction. The national carrier also performs A320 20-month and A checks, mini-checks, plus out-of-phase and line maintenance for its all-Airbus fleet. Gulf Air will also be carrying out C checks in January 2015.
