MTU Maintenance has signed an exclusive 10-year Total Engine Care agreement with a value of approximately €170 million with VECA (Vuelos Economicos de Centro America) Airlines, a start-up carrier from El Salvador. It covers maintenance of V2500 engines for Airbus A319s, as well as on-wing services and engine trend monitoring. In addition, MTU Maintenance will support VECA Airlines’ engine line replaceable units (LRU); in order to facilitate operations it will also establish a dedicated LRU storage pool directly in El Salvador; and to complete the services provided under the package it will also include customer training.

MTU Maintenance has signed an exclusive eight-year maintenance agreement with Maldivian for CFM56-5B engines powering Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft. The work will be carried out by MTU Maintenance Zhuhai in China, as well as engine lease support through MTU’s newly founded engine lease company: MTU Maintenance Lease Services.
