Aeronautical Engineers, Inc (AEI) has delivered its 50th Boeing 737-400SF 11 pallet position freighter conversion. The high gross weight aircraft (msn 26437), built in 1992, was delivered to Kalitta Charters based in Ypsilanti, Michigan. The aircraft was converted at Commercial Jet’s Dothan, Alabama facility. This represents an important milestone in AEI’s freighter conversion history and orders continue to remain strong as AEI has another 15 737-400SF freighters on order for this year.


Discovery Air Technical Services (DATS) has signed a three-year exclusive agreement with LIAT of Antigua for its ATR 42/72 fleet. The first aircraft is set to arrive at the Jean Lesage International Airport in Quebec City in May 2015. The company has also been awarded a heavy maintenance contract by Morningstar Air Express, of Edmonton Alberta, for one ATR 72-202 aircraft during the summer of 2015 and by a major US regional airline for nine Embraer ERJ 135/145 regional jets.


Embraer Aircraft Maintenance Services (EAMS) has been awarded a three-year extension of its heavy maintenance contract with Republic Airways Holding for work performed at the EAMS facility in Nashville, TN. EAMS will continue to provide airframe maintenance, modifications and repair services for Republic’s fleet of 178 E170, E175 and E190 aircraft under a contract that was initially signed in May 2011.


Lufthansa Technik has signed an Airbus ACJ319 cabin completion for an undisclosed customer from Greater China. The completion will be performed by Lufthansa Technik’s US subsidiary BizJet International in Tulsa, OK, in exclusive cooperation with the bespoke division of Hermès, Paris. Redelivery of the completed aircraft to the customer is planned for spring 2016. The interior comprises a spacious dining and lounge area, a private master bedroom/office as well a fully equipped master bathroom featuring a large shower. It will have 19 seats for take-off, 12 of which can be in full-flat sleeping positions. The VIP club seats and divans will be designed and upholstered by Hermès craftsmen and the interior will also feature some exclusive Hermès fabric on the bulkhead and curtain of the aft cabin. The aircraft will be equipped with an IFE and cabin management system controlled with tablet devices via a cabin wifi environment. All of the furniture, including the galley, will be constructed in-house at BizJet.


PEMCO World Air Services (PEMCO) has redelivered its latest Boeing 737-300F (msn 28158) to Beijing-based China Postal Airlines EMS, the fourth passenger-to-freighter conversion under the current five-aircraft agreement. All four conversions have been performed at STAECO’s Jinan Shandong China facility. PEMCO and STAECO have partnered on approximately 50 Boeing 737-300 and 737-400 freighter modification projects since 2006.


Sabena technics has signed a 12-year operational maintenance agreement covering airframe and component maintenance with Novespace of France to support its recently delivered Airbus A310 ZERO-G aircraft.
