328 Support Services has signed a two-year agreement for AOG support with SkyWork Airlines based in Bern, Switzerland. The arrangement will support the regional carrier’s five Dornier 328 turboprops. The contract follows the succesful completion of maintenance work that was undertaken on a SkyWork 328 turboprop at the company’s Oberpfaffenhofen facility, near Munich, Germany. The work was completed by 328’s engineers inside four weeks.


Aeronautical Engineers Inc (AEI) has commenced modification of a Boeing 737-400SF 11 pallet position freighter for Colombia-based AerCaribe. The high gross weight aircraft, built in 1990 (MSN 24430) is being converted by Commercial Jet in Miami, FL. Delivery is scheduled for early May 2016.


HAITEC is carrying out several nose-to-tail Boeing 757 C checks for Icelandair.


Pacific Aerospace Resources & Technologies (PART) has completed its first Embraer ERJ145 aft fuselage and tail section replacement at New York-JFK. The Chautauqua Airlines Aircraft (N572RP) was struck by a Royal Jordanian Airlines Airbus A340. The aircraft flew with zero defects on the test flight. PART’s team members gained valuable experience in 2013 when they participated in the first tail section replacement outside the factory at Newark Liberty Airport. In addition, PART’s team members have extensive experience with Embraer aircraft, performing four ERJ145 nose section replacements, ERJ145 wing changes, a dual fuselage change on an EMBRAER 170, and an aircraft recovery of a Legacy 600 involved in a midair collision.


PEMCO World Air Services has redelivered a Boeing 737-300F aircraft (MSN 27459) to Ireland-based Kahala Aviation. The freighter, converted at PEMCO’s headquarters in Tampa, FL, has now entered service. This conversion marks PEMCO’s third redelivery of a 737-300 to Kahala since 2008. A fourth aircraft (MSN 27460) was scheduled for redelivery during the fourth quarter of 2015.


Premier Aviation Overhaul Center has signed a long-term agreement with Republic Airways Holdings for the provision of airframe heavy maintenance on Republic Airways’ fleet of E-170 and E-175 aircraft. Republic Airways Holdings is the owner of Republic Airlines and Shuttle America. The airline currently operates a fleet of EMBRAER 170S, EMBRAER 175s and Bombardier Q400s. The agreement has an initial term of two years, with options to extend, and will include a line of 47 E-175 heavy maintenance visits in the first year, plus a partial line of E-170 aircraft scheduled for completion between February and June 2016. The contract guarantees Republic long-term hangar capacity at Premier’s Rome, NY, facility.


Sabena technics has completed a fourth Airbus A340-300 full cabin modification for Air Tahiti Nui. The company used its EASA Part 21J Design Office and EASA 21G Product Office to develop and supply the STC in-house, as well as the kit manufacturing for the cabin modification. Sabena technics has equipped the two-class cabin with brand new seats as well as with an IFE system offering wifi connection of personal devices. The new configuration also helps generate fuel cost savings through lighter equipment.


Sabena technics in Bordeaux will perform cabin and systems modifications on two Boeing 777 aircraft from Air France. Modifications will include the integration of the latest Air France BEST cabin (see Aircraft Cabin Management, January 2016) as well as the installation of a new IFE system.


StandardAero, through its partnership with Pratt & Whitney Canada, is now offering engine maintenance alternatives for PW100 turboprop operators through PW100SMART solutions. These programmes offer a wide variety of choices for PW100 operators, including firm fixed price overhauls, flat rate exchange programmes, capped costs, life-extension aircraft incentives, fleet enhancement programmes with engine exchange options, and modular fleet enhancement programmes to refresh engines one module at a time. In addition, it provides operators with engine health and performance diagnostics and prognostics to provide faster service and programmes designed to improve predictability for overall engine fleet maintenance. PW100SMART is aimed at operators of ATR 42/72, BA /ATP, Bombardier Q100/200/300, Dornier 328TP, Embraer EMB-120 Brasilia and Fokker 50 aircraft.
