Aeronautical Engineers, Inc (AEI) has received an FAA Supplemental Type Certificate (ST02606LA) for the passenger-to-freighter conversion for the Bombardier CRJ200 aircraft. The CRJ200 SF freighter conversion has been redelivered to IFL Group of Waterford, MI. AEI’s authorised Conversion Center, Commercial Jet, located in Miami, FL, performed all touch labour required for the modification of the CRJ200 SF conformity aircraft. Subsequently, the aircraft was flown to Commercial Jet’sDothan, AL, facility for painting in the IFL Group livery. AEI currently has over 45 firm orders and commitments for the CRJ200 SF freighter conversion and has stated that interest in the platform remains high.


AMAC Aerospace has been busy with overhauls of VIP aircraft at its facility in Basel, Switzerland. An Airbus A318, Airbus A319 and a Boeing BBJ aircraft underwent heavy base maintenance checks and had been delivered on time and budget by early November. An Asian customer has brought in an Airbus A319 aircraft for a heavy C check in conjunction with a partial cabin removal and a landing gear overhaul. A privately owned Airbus A340 from a new customer was scheduled to arrive at the end of November for an A check package and a second A340 contract has been signed for a head of state aircraft that will undergo a C check along with a Ka-band satcom installation. AMAC will also install a Ka-band system on a BBJ aircraft. The STCs for these installations have been developed by AMAC Aerospace.


GAMECO has signed a contract for base maintenance, engineering services, material support and component repair on Airbus A300-600F aircraft of Uni-Top Airlines of China.


LOT Aircraft Maintenance Services (LOTAMS) has recently concluded an agreement to provide airframe heavy maintenance checks for the Boeing 767 and Embraer E195 fleets of Austrian Airlines at its Warsaw Chopin Airport Base Maintenance facility.


Pemco World Air Services (PEMCO) has announced the redelivery of another Boeing 737-300 passenger-to-freighter converted aircraft (MSN 30102) to China-based SF Airlines. This was the 17th 737-300/400 PEMCO-converted aircraft for SF Airlines. The modification was performed by partner STAECO in Jinan Shandong, which will deliver two more aircraft to SF Airlines by year-end.


SR Technics has announced the successful completion of 12 Airbus A330 aircraft for Air Europa. Following Air Europa’s request for three business class cabin modifications and the installation of Panasonic’s Ground Connectivity System (GCS) IFE on a total of 12 aircraft, the SR Technics specialists began the job at the company’s facilities in Zurich in February 2016.


VD Gulf has been selected by UTair for heavy/base maintenance services on five Boeing 737s. The first aircraft has already arrived at VD Gulf’s main base in Sharjah where the aircraft will undergo a C4 check, a six-year inspection programme and the embodiment of several ADs/SBs. All subsequent inputs are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2016.


VD Gulf will carry out a C check, major modifications and AD/SB embodiment on a Boeing 737 Classic of Azman Air of Nigeria. Several components will also be repaired during the layover period along with work on the engines.
