AFI KLM E&M and SunExpress Deutschland, a subsidiary of SunExpress, have announced the signing of a long-term power by the hour contract that covers the GE Aviation CF6-80E1 engines powering the airline’s Airbus A330s. In addition to engine maintenance, the contract also covers services in connection with engine availability and on-wing support.

Atitech has signed a three-year contract with Air Horizont, a charter airline headquartered in Malta, for Boeing 737 maintenance services. Atitech completed the first check in April 2016. In the last two months, Air Horizont has expanded its fleet with two further aircraft.

Czech Airlines Technics (CSAT) has entered into an agreement with China Eastern Airlines to provide line maintenance for a new Shanghai to Prague route. Operated three times a week, initial services will be flown by Airbus A330s and, eventually, by Boeing 767s and 777s. CSAT has been providing line maintenance for Hainan Airlines since September 2015 and Sichuan Airlines from earlier this year.

Direct Maintenance and freight carrier Silk Way West Airlines, based in Baku, Azerbaijan, have entered into a long term line maintenance partnership to cover Boeing 747-8F and 747-400F at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. As part of this agreement, Direct Maintenance has successfully obtained Bermuda DCA approval to issue Certification of Release to Service on Bermuda-registered aircraft.

Direct Maintenance is providing a tailor-made line maintenance support package to Icelandair for Boeing 767 operations at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Also at Schiphol, the company looked after ‘Ed Force One’, with the Boeing 747-00 being used to support the tour of Iron Maiden while the band performed in Arnhem.

Monarch Aircraft Engineering Limited has received EASA and GCAA Part 145 approvals to provide line maintenance support for Airbus A380 operators at Birmingham Airport.

MTU Maintenance has signed a five-year contract with Garuda Indonesia covering 30 to 40 shop visits, services for CF34-8C5 engines powering 18 Bombardier CRJ1000 aircraft, and includes the provision of lease engines. The work will be carried out at MTU Maintenance Berlin-Brandenburg.

PEMCO World Air Services has signed an MoU with European-based aviation asset management company Vallair for a Boeing 737-400 passenger-to-freighter conversion. The agreement marks the first PEMCO-converted aircraft for Vallair.

Precision Aircraft Solutions has completed its third freighter conversion for DHL since May, bringing its DHL total to four for the year so far. The Boeing 757-200 aircraft (MSN 29330) will join Precision’s previous two conversions at European Air Transport Leipzig Airline, the largest of three airlines with dedicated service to the European, Middle Eastern and North African networks of DHL Express.

Satair Group UK and Flybe have signed a five-year contract under which Satair Group will assume responsibility for the supply of aircraft battery servicing and associated battery supply to the airline. The contract, which will be carried out at Satair Group’s UK battery facility near London-Heathrow, will support Flybe’s mixed fleet of Bombardier Q400s and EMBRAER 175/195s, along with other aircraft types operated by Flybe under wet-lease arrangements across mainland Europe. Some 2,000 battery services a year are expected as a result of this contract.
