321 Precision Conversions has announced that Vallair Solutions is the launch customer for the passenger-to-freighter conversion of Airbus A321-200 aircraft, including the prototype aircraft and follow-on option aircraft. The prototype (MSN891) was delivered by Vallair to 321PC in July. The company anticipates approval of an FAA STC in 2019, with EASA and CAAC validations thereafter.


Atitech has secured a number of maintenance contracts recently, including Arkia of Israel with an Embraer E190; NORDSTARfor two ATR 42-500 C checks, with the first scheduled for January 2018; and a three-year contract (with a two-year option) with the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) to provide Integrated Logistic Support to the Italian Air Force fleet of three VIP Airbus A319CJs.


Atlantic Aviation Group has been selected by Primera Airto perform heavy checks on three of their Boeing 737NG fleet. The maintenance programme is due to begin in December and run through to February 2018, and follows two checks earlier this year.


Etihad Airways Engineering has been awarded its first heavy maintenance contract by Lufthansa. The contract is for several long-haul aircraft, including the Airbus A340-300 and A380-800. The check is scheduled for 4Q17 and will include full cabin rework as per the customer requirement, as well as major structural modifications.


Etihad Airways Engineering has been chosen by Aeroméxico to carry out end of lease C checks on its Boeing 777 aircraft. The project also includes full stripping and painting of the aircraft.  The first input will arrive in 1Q18.


JorAMCo and the Lufthansa Group have signed an agreement by which JorAMCo will perform C checks to seven of the German’s carrier fleet at its base in Amman, Jordan. The work on five Airbus A340s and two A320s will also include AD/S-B work. The project is scheduled to run between December this year and mid-February 2018.


Monarch Aircraft Engineering Limited has signed a new base maintenance agreement with Icelandair for C checks on Boeing 757 cargo aircraft. The work will be carried out at Luton Airport and is due to commence at the end of October 2017.


Sabena technics and Air Transat have signed a general terms agreement for C checks on two of the Canadian carrier’s Airbus A330 aircraft.


Sabena technics has been selected by Lufthansa Technik and Lufthansa to carry out the installation of a new cabin and system concept on seven Airbus A330 aircraft. Lufthansa Technik currently holds the STC for the Airbus A330 and will supply the modification kit design. Sabena technics will perform the complete cabin and systems installation on the seven aircraft in their dedicated facilities in Bordeaux. Base maintenance operations will be included for some of the aircraft. The first aircraft was expected in October and the end of the programme is scheduled for spring 2018.


Additionally, the three companies have agreed to keep looking for opportunities to work together in various areas in the future by renewing their cooperation GTA signed in 2014.


SR Technics has signed several service agreements with SWISS International Airlines. The contracts cover aircraft base and cabin maintenance, hangar and infrastructure and additional services for SWISS and Edelweiss, including 51 narrowbody and 35 widebody aircraft.


SR Technics will provide C checks for the Airbus fleet, as well as back-shop and cabin maintenance support during scheduled A checks on A320 family, A340, A330, Boeing 777 and Bombardier C Series aircraft. The MRO will also be supplying GSE maintenance and calibration services on test equipment under the new agreement, as well as a range of other maintenance, infrastructure, storage and support services on site in Zurich and Geneva.
