AFI KLM E&M and Aerolíneas Argentinas have signed an exclusive agreement organising closed loop repairs for the APUs equipping the carrier’s entire fleet. The repair services will be provided by EPCOR, the AFI KLM E&M subsidiary specialising in APU support solutions.


CFM International and the Cathay Pacific Group have signed a long-term rate per flight hour maintenance agreement as part of an order for LEAP-1A engines to power 32 new Airbus A321neo aircraft. The engine order is valued at nearly $1 billion at list price, with delivery scheduled from 2020. The aircraft will be operated by Cathay Dragon, the regional carrier of the Group, replacing and modernising its existing single-aisle fleet of 15 A320s and eight A321s, while supporting the airline’s continued expansion in the Asia-Pacific region.


GE Aviation has signed a 12-year TrueChoice Flight Hour agreement with Singapore Airlines for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of its 45 GE9X engines that will power its Boeing 777-9 aircraft. The services agreement is valued at more than $1.7 billion. This follows Singapore Airlines’ February 2017 notice of intent to order 20 GE9X-powered Boeing 777-9 aircraft and five spare engines. The engine order is valued at more than $2 billion list price.


At the 2017 Paris Air Show, SIA Engineering Company and GE Aviation agreed to establish a new engine overhaul joint venture based in Singapore. The joint venture will provide a full range of engine MRO services for the GE90 and GE9X engines. The GE90 engine exclusively powers the Boeing 777-300ER and 777-200LR, and the GE9X engine is the sole engine selection for the Boeing 777X aircraft.


GE Aviation has signed a five-year, TrueChoice overhaul agreement with TAAG Angola Airlines for CFM56-7B engines that power five Boeing 737-700 aircraft. With this agreement, GE Aviation will be the service provider for all TAAG Angola’s GE engines.


GE Aviation has signed a three-year TrueChoice Material Agreement with Aero Norway to cover the component repairs on its CFM56-3, CFM56-5B and -7B engines. The agreement will cover engine modules, engine assemblies and sub-assemblies, engine mounted controls and accessories, and all parts incorporated within this equipment.


Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey and Regional Jet (the subsidiary of Nordica and LOT) have signed a five-year agreement for the provision of engine MRO services for Regional Jet´s CF34 engines powering their Bombardier CRJ700 and CRJ900 fleet.


Pratt & Whitney Canada has been selected by Republic Airline to perform all maintenance services on the APS2300 APUs aboard Republic’s fleet of 170 existing and 12 new Embraer 170/175 series aircraft.


Pratt & Whitney Canada has signed a Fleet Management Program maintenance contract with IndiGo for PW127M engines that will power the airline’s new fleet of 50 ATR 72-600 aircraft serving regional routes in India. The contract, signed in August, will be in place for 10 years from the date of each engine’s entry into service and can be extended thereafter.
