Aeronautical Engineers, Inc (AEI) will be converting a third McDonnell Douglas MD-80 series passenger-to-freighter conversion for Fairbanks, Alaska-based Everts Air Cargo. The MD-83 aircraft (MSN 53079) commenced modification in December and will be re-delivered in April 2017. Everts Air Cargo will use the MD-83SF for seasonal demand in Alaska, and on-demand business in North America. Commercial Jet’s Dothan, AL, facility will perform the modification and maintenance requirements on the aircraft.

AFI KLM E&M and AirAsia have a component support agreement for the airline’s fleet of Airbus A320neo passenger jets, ultimately scheduled to number 304 aircraft. AirAsia took delivery of its first A320neo on 7 September 2016 in Hamburg. The contract between the two groups includes component repair services and solutions designed to maximise aircraft availability, such as the provision of a local main base kit at AirAsia’s Kuala Lumpur facility.

Embraer and Airlink, southern Africa’s largest independent regional airline, have extended an existing Flight Hour Pool Program contract for another eight years and added 11 Embraer ERJ 140 aircraft. This will bring the number of Embraer regional jets the airline operates to 30. The Pool Program covers more than 350 different components.

FEAM Maintenance/Engineering has launched eight new line maintenance stations in the US. FEAM has signed multiple line maintenance agreements with international and domestic airline operators to provide full handling airworthiness release support and up to A check level work at the new locations. The new locations are at Paine Field and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport Seattle, WA; Phoenix Sky Harbor, AZ; Denver, CO; Minneapolis, MN; Milwaukee, WI; and Orlando and Fort Lauderdale, FL.

IPR Conversions has delivered its third Structural Tube conversion, the first to Zimex Aviation. The ATR72-202F (MSN 449) was converted by IPR’s Approved Conversion Center, ASI-Maintenance in Toulouse-Francazal, France. Zimex is planning to enlarge its ATR fleet further by adding additional IPR LCD and Structural Tube.

Jazz Aviation has been awarded a two-year heavy maintenance contract by CommutAir, a United Express carrier based in North Olmsted, OH. Under the terms of the agreement, Jazz Technical Services will provide airframe maintenance in support of 15 of the 21 Bombardier Dash 8 Series 200 and Series 300 aircraft operated by CommutAir. The work will be carried out at Halifax Stanfield International Airport in Halifax, NS.

Lufthansa Technik and Air India have entered into an agreement for the maintenance and repair of the carrier’s Boeing 777-200/300 landing gears. The four-year contract covers a total of 15 shipsets. The maintenance and overhaul work will be performed by Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Services UK (LTLGS) located in Hayes, London.

Monarch Aircraft Engineering Limited (MAEL) has secured a contract with Madrid-based cargo airline Cygnus Air to provide a C check for its Boeing 757 freighter aircraft, along with insulation blanket modifications. All the maintenance work will be carried out at its London Luton Airport hangar facility.

Pemco World Air Services (PEMCO) has announced the redelivery of its first Boeing 737-400 converted aircraft (MSN 24690) to Vallair. The European-based aviation asset management company holds options for additional PEMCO-converted aircraft.

Pemco World Air Services (PEMCO) has redelivered its first Boeing 737-300 passenger-to-freighter converted aircraft (MSN 29069) to Guangdong Longhao Aviation Group. The Guangzhou-based Longhao Aviation Group has two more PEMCO-converted 737-300 aircraft in process with options for additional conversions to meet its expansion. Longhao Aviation Group is a subsidiary of the Longhao Group, which is primarily focused on the investment and construction of highways, infrastructure and public works; aviation business; smart city and environmental engineering; and media and culture.
