AAR has been awarded a contract extension for power-by-the-hour component support of a fleet of five Boeing 737 Classic aircraft operated by Bluebird Cargo of Iceland.

Aeronautical Engineers, Inc (AEI) has signed a contract to provide two Bombardier CRJ200 SF freighter conversions to Mexico-based Aeronaves TSM. The first CRJ200 will commence modification in 2Q17 with redelivery in mid-2017. The second CRJ200 will commence modification in July 2017, with redelivery scheduled for October. Both freighter conversions will take place at Commercial Jet’s Dothan, AL, facility. TSM is a significant customer for AEI as the company currently operates three AEI McDonnell Douglas MD-80SF series freighters and will take delivery of an additional two AEI MD-80SF series freighters during the first quarter of 2017.

AFI KLM E&M and Xiamen Airlines have finalised a support agreement for the GEnx-1B74/75 engines equipping the Chinese airline’s fleet of Boeing 787-9s, which will ultimately total six aircraft. AFI KLM E&M already provides component and engines support for the carrier’s six 787-8s. The contract will cover shop visits, maintenance and spare engine access to guarantee the aircraft availability. The maintenance will be performed in Amsterdam.

Boeing has announced an agreement with AirBridgeCargo Airlines to support the airline’s 747 Freighters through the Boeing Landing Gear Overhaul and Exchange Program. The Russia-based cargo carrier will receive fully overhauled and certified landing gear to support nine of its 747 Freighters through the Boeing Landing Gear Overhaul and Exchange Program, with an ultimate commitment covering 18 additional 747s in the airline’s fleet. Through the Program, landing gear that needs to be repaired or overhauled can be exchanged for another set of certified landing gear from a pool that Boeing maintains, eliminating the need for customers to contract, schedule and manage the overhaul process.

FEAM Maintenance Engineering has signed a multi-year agreement with Boeing as the first US-based MRO to provide GoldCare line maintenance services. The strategic partnership calls for FEAM to provide full handling of line maintenance support on new 737 MAX aircraft under its EASA 145 authorisation.

FL Technics Indonesia has launched base maintenance services in its facilities at Jakarta’s Soekarno–Hatta International Airport with the arrival of a Boeing 737-800 from local carrier Batik Air for a C check due to be finished in early February. This follows the receipt of Indonesian DGCA base maintenance approval earlier in January 2017. The company plans to expand its geographical coverage by adding base maintenance approvals from aviation authorities in Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.

Joramco is providing C checks and cabin modifications on two Airbus A340s of Lufthansa. The maintenance activities are scheduled to commence during January and to continue through February 2017.

Magnetic MRO has signed a new maintenance agreement with airBaltic, the flag carrier of Latvia, for wheels and brakes for the Bombardier Q400 and wheels for the Bombardier CS300.

MTU Maintenance has signed an exclusive maintenance contract with BH Air of Bulgaria for six V2500-A5 engines.

Precision Aircraft Solutions has completed its 28th passenger-to-freighter conversion for the DHL global network. The conversion is also Precision’s 12th redelivery in less than a year to the DHL affiliate European Air Transport Leipzig. Conversion of the 757-200 aircraft, MSN 26275, was performed at HAECO Americas in Greensboro, NC.
