AAR has signed an agreement with Indian low cost carrier IndiGo to provide support for landing gear overhaul services. The contract includes up to 49 full ship sets of Airbus A320 landing gear, as well as assemblies and subassemblies, for the next five years. IndiGo currently operates 129 aircraft.


AFI KLM E&M has signed a long-term component support contract with Cebu Pacific Air of the Philippines for its Airbus A320 fleet. The contract covers a fleet of over 40 aircraft and encompasses repairs and local pool access to maximise availability, for both its A320ceos and its future A320neos. Cebu currently has a fleet of 59 aircraft, comprised of four Airbus A319s, 36 Airbus A320ceos, seven Airbus A330s, eight ATR 72-500s, and four ATR 72-600s. Between 2017 and 2021, it expects delivery of 45 new aircraft as part of its fleet renewal programme. Comprised of 12 ATR 72-600 aircraft, one brand-new Airbus A330, and 32 Airbus A321neo, the new aircraft will bring the fleet to 85 by 2021.


AFI KLM E&M has signed a long-term component support agreement with Jetstar Pacific of Vietnam for its fleet of 14 Airbus A320s, a number that is slated to grow to 30 by 2021. The contract covers component support and repairs plus access to a local spares pool located at Ho Chi Minh City. 


AFI KLM E&M has won a long-term contract covering component support for Cambodia Angkor Air’s fleet of A320s. The fleet currently comprises three aircraft, rising to 10 in the coming years. The agreement includes full component support services, repairs and maintenance, pool access, and the provision of a main base kit with local services.


Avtrade has signed a Component Support Solutions contract with a recently launched low cost airline based in the Middle East. Avtrade will provide the airline’s entire A320 fleet with component support, pool access, core repair management and a main base kit positioned on site for AOG and critical requirements.


BAE Systems Regional Aircraft has secured a two-year extension to its long-standing JetSpares contract with Braathens Regional Airlines in support of the airline’s fleet of 12 Avro RJ regional jetliners. The Swedish-based airline is the longest-standing JetSpares customer of BAE Systems, having first entered the programme in April 1996. At that time, the programme covered nearly 600 parts across 10 aircraft. Since then the JetSpares agreement has been renewed on many occasions and the new agreement now covers 621 parts over the 12 aircraft fleet, which consists of 10 Avro RJ100s and two RJ85s. JetSpares is a customised rotable spares support rate-per-flying-hour support agreement designed to allow an airline to focus on its flight operations while BAE Systems Regional Aircraft takes care of spares inventory, logistics and repairs. 


HAECO Component Overhaul (Xiamen), in collaboration with Umbra Cuscinetti, recently completed its first Boeing 737NG flap ballscrew overhaul for a commercial airline customer in Mainland China. HAECO Component Overhaul (Xiamen) is the sole Authorised Repair Station for Umbra’s Boeing 737NG flap ballscrew products in Mainland China. HAECO Component Overhaul (Xiamen) has been working with Umbra to support their Chinese customers with ballscrew repairs in accordance with the revised Maintenance Planning Document (MPD) 27-51-32-200-803.


Liebherr-Aerospace has just announced the signing of a contract at the beginning of December 2016 with Nordic Regional Airlines (Norra) and Finnair which covers the overhaul of the main and nose landing gears system of 12 Embraer E190 regional jets operated by Norra on behalf of Finnair.


Lufthansa Technik has signed an Airframe Related Component (ARC) agreement with Cargolux to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul of the thrust reversers on the Cargolux fleet of Boeing 747-8 aircraft. The all-cargo airline based in Luxembourg currently operates 14 Boeing 747-8 freighter aircraft, in addition to a fleet of twelve 747-400 freighters. 


Complementing a planned reverser overhaul programme which includes preventive maintenance, Lufthansa Technik will provide support in case of non-scheduled events and worldwide on-site assistance. An adequate pool of spares will be established and maintained, enabling Cargolux to make use of spare thrust reversers under a loan and/or exchange programme if required.


Thales Group has signed a long-term Repair-By-The-Hour avionics maintenance contract with AirAsia for 304 A320neos. The avionics package includes TopFlight FMS, T3CAS, low range radio altimeter and Emergency Locator Transmitters. Deliveries of the aircraft started in October 2016. The agreement provides guaranteed turnaround times on repairs and offers a commitment of reliability with reduced operational risk.
