AAR has expanded its relationship with flydubai by signing a long-term contract to provide comprehensive flight-hour component support for its new Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. The Dubai-based airline is set to take delivery of 100 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft by the end of 2023. This is AAR’s first agreement to support the new aircraft and will utilise the company’s extensive global supply chain network, including its new parts warehouse in Dubai.

AJW Group has renewed its contract agreement with Nile Air to service its entire Airbus A320 fleet, nearly doubling the number of aircraft previously supported. The agreement includes comprehensive ‘Power by the Hour’ support with on-site stock.

ATR and the Indonesian airline TransNusa have extended their Global Maintenance Agreement (GMA). Signed in 2014, the initial contract covered the repair, overhaul and pooling services of Line Replaceable Units, along with propeller services, fuel nozzle services and on-site stock support for the domestic carrier’s fleet of two ATR 72-600s. The GMA will now be extended for several additional years and the number of aircraft covered will increase from two, to five. TransNusa is progressively introducing two ATR 42-500s and one ATR 72-600 into its fleet.

Avtrade has signed a new component Repair Management contract with Irish scheduled and wet lease airline Cityjet covering 14 Avro RJ aircraft. The services are to be implemented as an end of life solution until the last aircraft leaves the Cityjet fleet.


Utilising Avtrade’s network of independent repair facilities and strong OEM relationships, Avtrade’s Repair Management solution will provide Cityjet with component maintenance of the highest quality standard and service levels, whilst allowing Cityjet complete control over their assets. By offering flexible packages tailored to suit the airline’s needs, Avtrade is able to provide improved turnaround times, increased component reliability and performance, as well as competitive price benefits due to Avtrade’s negotiated pricing.

Boeing Shanghai Aviation Services has announced the signing of a maintenance agreement with Chinese-based SF Airlines for its Boeing 737 Classic and 767-300 freighters. The first aircraft is already undergoing a C check in Boeing Shanghai’s facilities at Shanghai Pudong International Airport and more will follow on a nose-to-tail basis.

Czech Airlines Technics (CSAT) has entered into four new landing gear maintenance agreements. This follows investments in spare landing gear sets in 2016 that allows the company to lease spare landing gear sets to customers during the overhaul period. This applies to each of the four agreements.


The first is an exclusive two-year agreement with Germania for 10 Boeing 737NG landing gear set overhauls. The second is an agreement with Primera Air Nordic SIA, a Latvian air carrier, for 737NG overhauls until 2022. The third was a 737NG overhaul for Air Madagascar, which required the landing gear set to be removed from the aircraft and air transported from Cairo via Germany to Prague. Lastly, the fourth was a 737-400 overhaul for Russian cargo carrier Atran, part of the Volga-Dnepr Group.


The company has three overhaul lines with an annual capacity of 27 737 landing gear sets.

Delta TechOps has entered into a new 12-year, $750 million maintenance contract with Air Transport Services Group and its subsidiaries ABX Air, Air Transport International and Cargo Aircraft Management, supporting both GE Aviation CF6-80A and CF6-80C2 engines for Boeing 767 freighter aircraft.

GE Aviation and Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey (LTAA) have entered into a CF34 General Support License agreement for the entire CF34 turbofan family. This agreement supports LTAA efforts to provide CF34 engine overhaul services through 2029.

Joramco has recently completed Airbus A330 C checks, in addition to several ADs and SBs, for Tunisair. The two layovers took place during May.

Lufthansa Technik and EL AL Israel Airlines have signed a 15-year Total Component Support contract for 16 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, with the first aircraft to enter service in the EL AL fleet in 3Q17. The contract covers the global availability of Boeing 787 components. In addition to stocking inventory at EL AL’s hub at Ben Gurion International Airport near Tel Aviv, Lufthansa Technik will supply EL AL through its global spare parts pools in Asia, America and Europe.
