CFM International, during a visit to China by President Macron of France, signed major deals with three local carriers. An MoU with Hainan Airlines Holding, a subsidiary of HNA Group, covered the purchase of LEAP-1A engines to power 55 Airbus A320neo aircraft, along with a long-term support agreement for Hainan Airlines Holding and its affiliates. The MOU is valued at $4.2 billion. It also finalised an agreement with Spring Airlines for the purchase of 120 LEAP-1A engines to power 60 Airbus A320neo, including a 10-year Rate for Flight Hour agreement. The total value of the agreement is $2.9 billion. The engine order was announced at the 2017 Paris Air Show. Another MoU, with Xiamen Airlines, and valued at $2.05 billion, covering installed and spare engines, along with a long-term Time and Materials support agreement. No further details have been released, but the airline signed MoUs with Boeing in 2016 for 30 737 MAX 200s, and in 2017 for 10 737 MAX 10s, which would mean the CFM MoU covers the LEAP-1B engine. Boeing did not show these aircraft in its Orders & Deliveries summary for December 2017.
