AFI KLM E&M has signed a long-term contract with Spring Airlines of China for the exclusive support of many avionics components on its A320 fleet. The contract, on a power-by-the-hour (PBH) basis, covers many references mainly in the field. In order to optimise the airline’s operations, which currently has 78 A320s in its fleet, repairs will be carried out in ‘closed loop’ mode by the specialised subsidiary AFI KLM E&M Components China in its Shanghai workshop, close to Spring Airlines' bases at the two Shanghai airports.

AJW Group has extended its power-by-the-hour (PBH) agreement with Incheon-headquartered cargo transport specialist, Air Incheon. The contract has been extended for several years and covers Air Incheon’s fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft, as well as two newly acquired Boeing 767s.

HAECO ITM has entered into a long-term agreement with Philippine Airlines to provide engine component support. The scope of the agreement includes access to HAECO ITM’s component pool, component exchange, component repair management, component engineering and AOG support for IAE V2533 engines on the airline’s Airbus A321 fleet.

Lufthansa Technik and Comair of South Africa have signed a comprehensive long-term Total Technical Support (TTS) contract. In the frame of the new agreement, Lufthansa Technik will provide engineering, planning, line maintenance and component support including consumables and expendables supply for the customer's future Boeing 737 MAX 8 fleet. The services will commence in January 2019, when Comair, as part of its fleet renewal programme, will take delivery of the first two of eight 737 MAX 8 aircraft on order. As part of the TTS, Lufthansa Technik supports Comair with a Technical Operations Management (TOM), integrating all MRO activities contracted in the agreement into a comprehensive service package.

Sabena technics has extended an existing global component support contract with PT Pelita Air Service, the Indonesia-based charter airline, by an additional five years. The initial contract began in 2013 covering a large range of solutions including pool access, repair and overhaul of rotable components including propellers as well as the initial build up of consignment stock. Since then, PT Pelita Air Services has expanded their ATR fleet from one to four aircraft. Support will be carried out from Sabena technics’s worldwide network as well as from its repair facilities located in Singapore (Seletar) and France. The customer will also benefit from pooling solutions in Singapore and Paris.

Safran Landing Systems has been selected by AirAsia X (an affiliate of Air Asia) to provide complete overhaul and repair services for 24 Airbus A330 landing gears. The first services will be provided in Singapore and will start this year and run through 2025. The MRO division in Singapore is currently commissioned to provide MRO services for 32 A320 landing gears operated by AirAsia.

Spairliners and Kenya Airways have extended an existing Integrated Component Care contract covering full component support for 15 Embraer E-Jet aircraft. Having started in April, the contracted services have been enhanced by an on-site customer representative based in Nairobi and line maintenance training. The fleet will be supplied from Spairliners' component pool and logistic centres in Paris and Munich. Additionally, an optimised on-site stock will be provided at Kenya Airways premises for their proprietary use.
