AERIA Luxury Interiors, the VIP completion arm of ST Aerospace, has secured its first Airbus Corporate Jet (ACJ) customer with a 12-year maintenance support contract for an ACJ319. Under the agreement, AERIA will carry out heavy maintenance works that include interior and auxiliary fuel tank removal/replacement.
Aeronautical Engineers, Inc (AEI) has received EASA approval for the AEI Bombardier CRJ200 SF passenger-to-freighter conversion. The EASA approval (STC 10061615) allows for the operation of European registered CRJ200 SF freighters. AEI received the original FAA STC for the CRJ200 SF at the end of 2016 and has since amassed over 45 firm orders and commitments for the freighter. Currently, AEI has six CRJ200 aircraft undergoing freighter modification for various customers.
AFI KLM E&M has signed a long-term contract with Spring Airlines of China for the exclusive support of many avionics components on its A320 fleet. The contract, on a power-by-the-hour (PBH) basis, covers many references mainly in the field. In order to optimise the airline’s operations, which currently has 78 A320s in its fleet, repairs will be carried out in ‘closed loop’ mode by the specialised subsidiary AFI KLM E&M Components China in its Shanghai workshop, close to Spring Airlines' bases at the two Shanghai airports.
AJW Group has extended its power-by-the-hour (PBH) agreement with Incheon-headquartered cargo transport specialist, Air Incheon. The contract has been extended for several years and covers Air Incheon’s fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft, as well as two newly acquired Boeing 767s.
Certified Aviation Services (CAS) has carried out a 12-year heavy maintenance check on the last operating Lockheed L-1011 TriStar aircraft, which is operated by Orbital ATK as an airborne launch vehicle for the Pegasus rocket. The heavy maintenance visit included structural inspections and Corrosion Prevention and Control Program (CPCP), as well as structural inspections of all zones and removal of engines one and three to conduct the non-destructive inspection (NDI) of the engine mount bolts.
The project was completed 18 days earlier than the projected finish date.
GAMECO and Lufthansa Technik recently signed a four-year maintenance agreement for Airbus A380 aircraft. This is the first cooperation between the two parties in the aircraft overhaul and painting business. By the end of 2018, GAMECO will perform C checks and painting for four aircraft.
H+S Aviation has signed a five-year agreement with Asiana Airlines to provide MRO support for Pratt & Whitney PW901 APUs fitted on the Boeing 747-400 fleet. H+S Aviation received the first PW901 APU in February at its dedicated APU maintenance facility in Portsmouth, UK, where the company provides repair, overhaul and exchange support for Asiana Airlines.
HAECO ITM has entered into a long-term agreement with Philippine Airlines to provide engine component support. The scope of the agreement includes access to HAECO ITM’s component pool, component exchange, component repair management, component engineering and AOG support for IAE V2533 engines on the airline’s Airbus A321 fleet.
Jet Aviation is partnering with Sparfell & Partners, Winch Design and DS Aviation to develop a VVIP market solution for the Airbus ACJ380. Under the agreement, Jet Aviation will engineer, manage, manufacture, install and certify (STC) a VVIP cabin interior for the ACJ380. It has also received approval from Airbus Corporate Jets for the ACJ350 XWB and has signed a second Boeing 787 completions contract.
