Ameco recently completed the first D check for a Boeing 747-8F, which involved more than 1,300 job cards, of which 260 job cards and 40 Engineering Orders were performed by Ameco for the first time.


Czech Airlines Technics (CSAT) has won five new line maintenance customers, including American Airlines (767-300), Cyprus Airways (Airbus A319), Air Cairo (Airbus A320) and Go2Sky (which has leased a 737-400 to Czech Airlines for the summer), all of which operate their flights from Václav Havel Airport Prague. CSAT mechanics will also provide line maintenance services for Russian carrier Pobeda at Karlovy Vary Airport.


The company has also recently received two new certificates allowing it to confirm aircraft post-line maintenance operational readiness. The first certificate was awarded to CSAT by the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority regarding Egypt Air aircraft. Until now, permits were always issued on an ad hoc basis. The second certificate was issued by Mongolian authorities for MIAT Mongolian Airlines. CSAT will perform A checks for its aircraft this summer.


Direct Maintenance has received regulatory approval to perform line maintenance activities, including Certification of Release to Service under EASA Part-145, on the latest Boeing 737 MAX. Inaugural line maintenance activities have already started on behalf of launch customers, which includes Icelandair at Berlin-Tegel Airport. The Dublin line station has also started to support the MAX.


HAECO Xiamen has entered into an agreement with Japan Airlines Group (JAL) and Spring Airlines Japan (Spring Japan) to provide line services for Spring Japan at all of its four destinations in China. This co-operation follows an expanded engineering services agreement between JAL and Spring Japan in December 2017. Subsequently, HAECO Xiamen was selected as an exclusive partner to handle their line maintenance operations in China.


HAECO Xiamen has set up new line stations at Wuhan Tianhe International Airport and Harbin Taiping International Airport in addition to existing stations at Chongqing and Tianjin.


KLM UK Engineering has signed a line maintenance contract with easyJet, for the support of Airbus A320 Family aircraft at Aberdeen.


Monarch Aircraft Engineering (MAEL) has been awarded a new line maintenance contract with Canadian carrier Air Transat covering Airbus A310 and A330 aircraft at Glasgow Airport.


StandardAero has recently signed two, new, five-year contracts with Mesa Airlines. to provide MRO services for the airline's APS2300 and RE220 APUs. With these new contracts, StandardAero now supports 100% of Mesa Airlines' APUs. Mesa's APUs will be serviced at StandardAero's Maryville, TN, facility.


Under the first contract, StandardAero will provide MRO services for the APS2300 APUs equipping a further 18 Embraer E175 aircraft operated by Mesa for United Airlines. This new contract follows on from a previous 12-year APU support agreement covering 30 Mesa E175s signed in 2015.


The second contract covers support of the RE220 APUs which equip Mesa's fleet of 84 Bombardier CRJ700/CRJ900 aircraft, operated for American Airlines and United Airlines.
