ATR expands in Brazil bookmark

ATR and TAP Maintenance & Engineering (TAP M&E) in Brazil have signed a partnership agreement under which TAP M&E has joined the network of centres recommended by ATR for the airframe maintenance of its aircraft. The company also becomes the first spare parts repair centre in Brazil for support of Global Maintenance Agreements (GMA) offered to ATR operators.


The company has also signed a partnership agreement with Helibras to set up a warehouse in the logistic centre premises of the Customer Center of Airbus Helicopters in São Paulo. ATR will stock spare parts including Line Replacement Units (LRUs), in direct support of its GMA service for Brazilian customers. This new centre is the sixth of this type for ATR, which already has others in Auckland, Kuala Lumpur, Miami, Paris and Singapore. The fleet of ATRs in operation in Latin America has increased since 2005 from 70 aircraft to almost 180, and will exceed 200 next year.


One of those customers is AZUL, which has just renewed a GMA for a further five years to support its fleet of almost 60 aircraft, mostly ATR 72-500s and ATR 72-600s. This includes the provision of a stock of spare parts at the company’s facilities, mainly LRUs. The agreement also covers repair management of these parts and restocking through a pool arrangement, as well as an availability and repair service for propeller blades and landing gear. Through the agreement, AZUL will also have access to the new Helibras warehouse in São Paulo.
