Armac Systems has signed a five-year inventory management agreement with Iberia. As part of the new agreement, Iberia will implement Armac’s RIOsys software platform and enhance its inventory management processes using Armac’s Inventory Planning Capability Model to leverage proven industry best practices. RIOsys will integrate with Iberia’s SAP system, providing an additional layer of intelligence to optimise inventory levels and improve spare parts availability.

 

This new software application will support Iberia’s decision-making, help identify surplus and shortages, and prioritise daily activities to assist Iberia’s inventory planners in their jobs. The new solution will also help the Spanish airline reduce its capital and operating expenditure while increasing transparency, accountability and management controls over inventory planning.

Boeing has announced several new agreements with customers for Boeing AnalytX solutions. This brings the total amount of analytics contracts signed this year to 223. They include:

 

- Biman Bangladesh Airlines, a new Airplane Health Management customer, will use the service for its 777-300ER and 737-800 fleets

 

- Japan Airlines signed an agreementfor an Optimized Maintenance Program, which improves maintenance operations through customised maintenance programs using text analytics, parametric modelling and diagnostic analysis

 

- MTU Aero Engines signed an agreement to use AerData’s Engine Fleet Planning and Costing tool, which helps customers optimise engine maintenance planning, engine spares availability and budgets

 

- Qantas signed a contract adding Airplane Health Management to its 787 fleet. Qantas utilises Airplane Health Management analytics in taking predictive maintenance actions that improve efficiency and lower operating costs

 

- TUI Group expanded its use of Airplane Health Management by signing a contract to provide predictive analytics alerts for its forthcoming 737 MAX fleet

 

- United Airlines has expanded use of Airplane Health Management to cover its entire Boeing fleet, adding coverage for its Next-Generation 737, 737 MAX, 757 and 767 fleets, and renewing Airplane Health Management for its 747, 777 and 787 fleets. This represents the potential for 500 aircraft to receive Airplane Health Management’s analytics-based predictive alerts.

Commsoft has signed a contract with Bulgaria-based Cargo Air for the use of its OASES MRO software. Cargo Air has contracted for the Core, Airworthiness, Planning, Materials, Line Maintenance Control and Warranty modules. The Core module provides the essential system components that allow operation and integration of all the other functional modules and incorporates the Oracle database, the navigator functionality, the built-in help system and the security manager which controls access rights and privileges.

 

Between them, the other modules that Cargo Air has chosen provide the necessary tools to efficiently manage continuing airworthiness processes; to predict when all maintenance tasks, modifications and defect limitations will become due; to ensure that all material is available when required and replenished or repaired when necessary; to integrate with suitable data feeds from EFB, ETL, e-enabled aircraft and electronic operations systems; to maximise the amount of warranty that is claimed on both the aircraft and parts in the inventory. All of the modules will be implemented on dual standalone servers with a hot/cold configuration.

 

Cargo Air operates a freighter fleet of three Boeing 737-300Fs and six Boeing 737-400Fs which are deployed on contracts throughout Europe with integrators such as DHL, UPS, ASL Airlines, Mistral Air, and other express integrators or for ad hoc charter flights worldwide. A further Boeing 737-400 provides ACMI passenger services. The current fleet will shortly be supplemented by two new Boeing 737-800 freighter conversions.

Component Control has announced that Brite Air, a rotable and expendable aviation equipment provider, has implemented Quantum Control MRO and Logistics Software to enhance productivity, organisation and customer service. Based in suburban Minneapolis, MN, Brite Air provides full service support for airlines and repair facilities around the world.

 

Brite Air processes more than 5,000 orders each year for some 60 customers, including Sriwijaya Air, Fiji Airways, Boeing Safety Training, and CAE Flight Simulators. The company will use Quantum for tracking quotes, sales orders, purchases, receiving, brokered repairs and exchanges, in addition to accounting and other functions. Although Brite Air will primarily utilise the Quantum system at its home office, employees at other offices will have the ability to log in remotely as needed.

 

It also announced that Air Marshall, an aircraft components and services provider, has chosen Quantum Control MRO and Logistics Software to improve processes, sharpen focus on efficiency and shorten its lead time when responding to customers. Based in Hollywood, FL, Air Marshall provides factory new and overhauled components and accessories to the US government, as well as aircraft operators and MRO facilities around the globe. Air Marshall also manages aircraft maintenance activities for customers by overseeing the scheduling, planning, technical aspects, implementation, and logistics.

Locatory.com has signed a cooperation agreement with the UK-based aircraft parts stockist, distributor and asset manager Hayward & Green Aviation. The agreement follows long-standing cooperation between the companies and defines an extended scope of further collaboration.

 

According to terms of cooperation, from now on Hayward & Green Aviation can offer its inventory and capabilities marketplace Locatory.com, and list its inventory on the platform’s catalogues, which are directly linked to the most popular general search engines, such as Google, Bing, Yandex and Baidu. At the moment, Hayward & Green Aviation stocks over 400,000 lines of inventory at its Sussex headquarters and five remote warehouse sites in the UK and US. The estimated value of its parts inventory tops $10 million. Moreover, its technical data library comprises IPCs, CMMs and APs for most types of regional and narrowbody aircraft operated within the last 30 years.

Lufthansa Technik has announced that Wizz Air has become the launch customer for the AVIATAR digital MRO platform. With its open and modular architecture, AVIATAR allows for the safe storage of Wizz Air’s operational data, and the data can also be used for predictive maintenance solutions, condition monitoring and fault analytics.

 

AVIATAR allows operators and other players in the MRO market to collaborate on an open and neutral platform. The platform applies analytical models to provide new insights, recommendations and notifications, enabling clients to make faster and better decisions. AVIATAR rewards its users through the optimisation of operating hours, reduced consequential costs and safer as well as more reliable fleet operations, serving airline passengers around the world.

 

Lufthansa Technik has recently introduced the Capabilities App from b2b-aero into its AVIATAR platform. The Capabilities App by b2b-aero enables users to find and compare offerings for test, repair and overhaul services for specific part numbers of aircraft part numbers. By consolidating relevant information of the part and the supplier portfolio, it makes deep industry knowledge on pricing, repair station performance and certifications accessible. Finally, the app offers the functionality to send RFQs to selected suppliers and manage proposals online. More than 620 repair stations are currently listing more than 3.3 million capabilities and over 10,000 PDF Certificates from various authorities. Each month about 10,000 RFQs are being sent to customers around the world.

Swiss-AviationSoftware has announced that its AMOS MRO software has been selected by the Italian start-up airline Ernest Airlines. The low cost carrier currently operates one Airbus A319 and one A320, with a further three A320s to be added by early 2018.
