AerData has signed an agreement with Emirates for its Engine Fleet Planning And Costing (EFPAC) software. EFPAC helps customers optimise engine maintenance planning, engine spares availability and budgets.

Aircraft Technical Publishers has announced Custom Alerting, a new customer-driven innovation in the ChronicX Solution that enables users to set up customised alerts to monitor fleets on an ongoing basis for issues of specific interest and automatically generate user-defined defect reports. Custom Alerts are generated when the text-matching algorithms of ChronicX identify defect reports that match user-defined rules, which can be created quickly using built-in rule templates and pick lists drawn from the operator’s own fleet data. Rules are previewed on existing fleet records, increasing the speed and quality of rule creation, making the learning curve brief, even for novice users.

 

Custom Alerting uses the same proprietary text-mining engine and text normalisation algorithms that ChronicX uses to intelligently ‘read’ text and understand multiple ways of describing similar events. This text-matching ability enables airlines and MROs to overcome the persistent challenge of accurately matching valid reports that are described using different terminology, including misspelled words and incorrect ATA coding. For instance, ChronicX with Custom Alerts is able to recognise and match defects that have been described differently as ‘nose wheel shimmy’, ‘nose gear vib’, or ‘NWS shimmy’.

 

The new Custom Alerts tool is now available at no additional cost to current subscribers of the ChronicX Solution.

Commsoft has announced that CAI Aerospace, the AMO subsidiary of Cronos Airlines International has become the latest member of the worldwide OASES community and is the company’s first active customer in South Africa. The Cronos family was founded in 2007 with scheduled passenger carrier Cronos Airlines, based in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea. In 2012, sister company Cronos Airlines International became a South African licensed AOC and AMO based at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, South Africa. CAI Aerospace performs all maintenance, including C checks for its fleet of Embraer ERJ 135/145s as well as a BAE Systems 146-200. Its capabilities also include VIP aircraft and Boeing 737 Classic/NG. Another sister company, AviaSeven (an EASA Part 145 and Part M CAMO located in Athens, Greece) is an existing Commsoft client supported by OASES under a CAMO contract. It has also been chosen by Jetdeck Aviation in the UK to support its planned CAMO operations, with implementation commencing immediately.

Component Control has announced that Jet Yard, an FAA 145 Repair Station that specialises in end-of-life solutions for aircraft, has selected Quantum Control MRO and Logistics software to enhance its inventory control and reporting.

 

Jet Yard’s Pinal Airpark storage complex in Marana, AZ, includes aircraft storage, 10,400m² of concrete ramp space for maintenance and disassembly services, and a 1,860m² warehouse. At its headquarters in Minneapolis, MN, it stocks aircraft parts sourced from teardown projects in its 465m² warehouse. Jet Yard recently signed a five-year agreement with Delta Material Services to part out its aircraft, starting with a Boeing 737-700. The parts will be used to support Delta Air Lines’ fleet of aircraft. Jet Yard also purchased 14 aircraft from Delta Air Lines for recycling.

Component Control is collaborating with OneAeroMRO, an online repair management and tracking database provider, to create a seamless interface between the two companies’ software systems. The integration between Component Control’s Quantum Control MRO and Logistics Software and OneAeroMRO’s MRO-Tracker, a repair order management, monitoring, tracking and reporting system, will enhance automation and streamline the entire repair order management process for MROs and their vendors.

 

OneAeroMRO’s MRO-Tracker is an online status and communication information system that allows customers to monitor the external repair process. MRO-Tracker provides visibility of assets undergoing external repair, thus helping to streamline communication, increase productivity, and shorten repair turnaround times.

 

When a vendor using Quantum Control receives a repair order from a customer on OneAeroMRO, the system will automatically create a work order in Quantum. It will be linked to the proper Quantum customer and part information, and include the details from the incoming electronic repair order. The system will notify the customer on OneAeroMRO when the component has been received into the Quantum system, and push status reports and estimated completion date updates back to the customer, all electronically.

EmpowerMX has launched FleetCycle Connect, an integration service bus that allows airlines, MROs and OEM to connect their systems using EmpowerMX’s suite of Spec5000-compliant application programming interfaces (API) to translate and load data, either in batch or real time, depending on specific needs. Using available API reduces integration cost, and customisations are available upon request. EmpowerMX is making its library of pluggable API available through FleetCycle Connect’s integrated service bus or through a company’s own internal service bus. While these API are available to license with other FleetCycle products, FleetCycle Connect is also available to customers  using other standalone FleetCycle products. These web services are highly configurable, giving customers the flexibility to choose the web service payload data to be transmitted from FleetCycle or other products to another application over HTTP/HTTPS protocols. The web services were designed to communicate synchronously or asynchronously with customers, using SOAP or REST protocol, allowing customers to take full advantage of the cloud.

IFS says PSA Airlines, a wholly-owned subsidiary of American Airlines, has selected its Maintenix software to support its enterprise-wide fleet maintenance management needs. PSA has recently embarked on a strategic growth plan that has seen its fleet more than double from 49 aircraft to 115 since 2014, with plans to operate up to 150 Bombardier CRJ aircraft. To meet evolving operational demands, the airline was looking to replace its legacy maintenance system with a modern, scalable software solution which could significantly reduce reliance on manual processes and drive greater standardisation and process efficiencies across its maintenance management chain. Maintenix will be used by its engineering, planning, line maintenance and materials management departments. This is the first order to be announced since the IFS acquisition of Mxi closed in January 2017.

Swiss AviationSoftware says its AMOS MRO software has gone live at Iberia to manage the airline’s CAMO activities. Along with Miami-based AMOS Business Unit within Lufthansa Systems, it has also signed a contract with Kalitta Air for its AMOS MRO software.
