Boeing has announced that Air Canada has expanded its Boeing Maintenance Performance Toolbox agreement to support the airline’s entire fleet, including Boeing and non-Boeing aircraft. This means the airline can rely on a single document management system for the online delivery of aircraft maintenance information, regardless of manufacturer.

Air Canada has been a Boeing Toolbox customer since 2014, initially contracting the service to support the airline’s Boeing 767, 777, 787 and future 737 MAX fleet. The airline later added Boeing Toolbox Authoring and Job Card Manager Modules, which allow Air Canada engineering to directly customise maintenance data.

In the interest of efficiency and enabling its workforce, Air Canada created kiosks which allow their mechanics to check out a tablet loaded with the Toolbox application and maintenance data as they would check out other tools.

Seabury Solutions has signed contracts with Air Zimbabwe and Latin American Wings (LAW) of Chile for its Alkym Management and Control System for Aircraft Maintenance. Air Zimbabwe has opted for 13 of 18 of the modules provided within Alkym. The configuration of the system and training of the personnel are currently underway, with system implementation set to begin with a two-week workshop to map out the process for the most effective deployment of the solution to meet Air Zimbabwe’s needs. LAW has selected seven core Engineering, Maintenance and Logistic modules to support the fleet of Boeing 737-300 aircraft.
