EmpowerMX has announced an agreement with Coopesa in Costa Rica to implement FleetCycle MRO. This version of FleetCycle is specifically designed to optimise production control and create maintenance efficiency through production process automation, utilization of electronic maintenance information and deployment of mobile technology. This implementation will leverage cloud technology to reduce overall infrastructure costs and take advantage of software updates and upgrades implemented directly by the EmpowerMX team.

EmpowerMX has successfully implemented and received FAA approval of its FleetCycle Electronic Task Cards for a leading global airline. With the EmpowerMX FleetCycle implementation, the airline becomes the first Part 121 operator to receive FAA approval for both electronic routine and non-routine maintenance task cards.

The FleetCycle Electronic Task Card system works seamlessly with FleetCycle Production Manager, allowing the airline’s maintenance organisation real-time visibility to completion of task cards and streamlining auditing and records functions. Through the Electronic Task Card module, mechanics easily record their electronic signature as they complete work instructions and access maintenance manual references directly from FleetCycle Electronic Task Cards. Immediately upon completion, inspectors are automatically notified of which cards require inspection. FleetCycle Electronic Task Cards ensure that no signature is missed and mechanic feedback is captured, thus minimising auditing. Additionally, the fully electronic task cards are stored automatically, eliminating the time-consuming scanning and indexing process that paper task cards required. FleetCycle Production Manager is part of the EmpowerMX FleetCycle MRO, FleetCycle AERO and FleetCycle OEM product lines.

FLYdocs has announced Brussels Airlines as its latest client for end of lease services. FLYdocs’ team of aircraft records specialists will build and audit digital records for 10 end of term aircraft and facilitate their on-time return to their respective lessors. Data scanning and electronic migration for the initial fleet of three Airbus A319 and seven A330 aircraft, which are due to be returned between October 2018 and October 2019, has been completed. This involved an onsite team scanning over 3.3 million original documents stored in almost 1600 boxes. The digital data is then passed through several highly advanced proprietary processes to extract maximum utility from it in order to build and audit complete aircraft documentation. To date, documentation builds for 6 of the 10 aircraft are already complete. Whilst initially signing up with FLYdocs for a phase-out programme, Brussels Airlines have since contracted FLYdocs to manage the phase-in of two A340 aircraft due for delivery in early 2018.

Swiss-AviationSoftware and its Miami based AMOS Business Unit within Lufthansa Systems have announced that Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation has selected its AMOS MRO software to support the certification process for its new MRJ90 Regional Jet.

Although AMOS has been developed for airline maintenance departments and MRO companies, the high configurability of the system means that it can be configured to manage the unique pre-production certification requirements. AMOS will be used to manage and support the flight-testing process taking place at the Moses Lake flight test centre in the US. With the implementation of AMOS, the company expects to further streamline its flight testing and certification process of the MRJ90.
