Rusada has announced two new mobile applications, Engineering Portal and Flight Log, that are being developed to integrate with their aviation maintenance and engineering suite, ENVISION nGen.

The Engineering Portal application allows users to download work orders and related task lists onto a device which can then be taken offline for use in an environment that has limited connectivity. Parts and tools can be requested and tasks can be signed off while in offline mode before being synched with the main system when connectivity is restored and actions triggered.

Similarly, the Flight Log app can be used in offline mode on the flight deck and can be unique to either the pilot or the aircraft, depending on how the user organisation defines its process. An intuitive interface allows the flight crew to capture vital flight data that is directly input into the operations information system for flight and roster monitoring which improves the accuracy of data and eliminates duplication of effort.

Rusada’s ENVISION nGen software has been selected by NokScoot, a joint venture between Thailand’s Nok Air and Singapore based Scoot, to power its maintenance information system. The selection is in line with NokScoot’s ongoing bid to lessen reliance on third-party service providers by developing its in-house maintenance capability. The medium to long haul low cost carrier operates fiveBoeing 777-200 aircraft serving 8 international destinations from its hub at Don Mueang International Airport in Bangkok. The implementation and deployment of ENVISION nGen will be carried out by NokScoot’s project team and Rusada’s in-house aviation consultants.

Swiss-AviationSoftware has announced that Kuwait Airways has selected AMOS as their single software solution to manage the airline’s technical requirements regarding aircraft and components. The airline was looking for a system capable of further improving their engineering and inventory service levels by implementing a state-of-the-art MRO system to enable a better utilisation of in-house resources and also wanted to prepare for the next phase of its fleet renewal with the arrival of Airbus A320neo and A350 aircraft in 2019.

AMOS will replace three legacy systems at Kuwait Airways with historical data of many different aircraft-types reaching back 20 years. This makes the data transfer sub-project a challenging one with due regard to the complexity and criticality of the data migration process.
